WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump's approval rating among Hispanic adults dropped 16 percentage points between March 2025 and April 2026, according to an AP-NORC poll of 2,596 U.S. adults conducted April 16-20, 2026. The survey, which has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 2.6 percentage points, recorded declines across several demographic groups compared with the start of his second term.

About one-quarter of Hispanic adults approved of how Trump was handling the presidency in April 2026, down from about 40% in March 2025. Roughly 30% of Hispanic men approved of his overall handling of the job in the April survey.

On immigration, about one-quarter of Hispanic adults approved of Trump's handling of the issue in April 2026, compared with 36% at the beginning of his term. Among Hispanic adults under age 45, 18% approved of his handling of immigration. Overall, 40% of Americans approved of Trump's handling of immigration in April 2026.

About one-quarter of Hispanic adults approved of Trump's handling of the U.S. economy, and about two in ten approved of his handling of the cost of living. Approximately two in ten Hispanic adults described the U.S. economy as "good."

Approval among men fell from 47% at the start of Trump's second term to 38% in April 2026, a decline of 9 percentage points. Among U.S. adults under age 45, overall approval dropped from 39% in March 2025 to 28% in April 2026.

About 30% of men under age 45 approved of Trump's handling of the economy in April 2026, compared with about two in ten women in the same age group. Among Hispanic women under age 45, 7% approved of his handling of the economy. Ten percent of Black men approved of his handling of the cost of living, and 20% approved of his handling of the economy.

Among white adults under age 45, 33% approved of Trump's overall performance, compared with 45% of white adults age 45 or older. About 50% of white men approved of how Trump was handling the presidency in April 2026.

Republican approval of Trump's job performance stood at 67% in April 2026, down from 82% near the start of his second term. Fifty-four percent of Republican adults said they consider themselves supporters of the "Make America Great Again" movement. About 90% of MAGA Republicans approved of Trump's job performance, and about 90% approved of his handling of the situation in Iran. Among non-MAGA Republicans, 44% approved of his job performance.
