NATIONWIDE — President Donald Trump's job approval rating fell to 37% in the latest Decision Desk Poll, with 63% of adults disapproving, including 50% who strongly disapproved. In the first two Decision Desk polls of Trump's second term, 45% of adults approved of his job performance and 55% disapproved.

Since the late January to early February poll, Trump's approval rating among Republicans dropped by four percentage points, and the share of Republicans who strongly approved of his job performance declined by six percentage points. The poll also found shifts on economic and foreign policy questions.

On the economy, 68% of adults disapproved of Trump's handling of inflation and the cost of living. Fifty-two percent strongly disapproved, seven percentage points higher than last summer. Among Republicans, 73% approved of his handling of inflation and the cost of living, ten percentage points lower than the last time the poll asked the question. Inflation and the rising cost of living were the economic issues most frequently cited as the one that matters most.

On foreign policy, 67% of adults disapproved of Trump's handling of the war in Iran, and 54% strongly disapproved. Seventy-four percent of Republicans disapproved of his handling of the war. Sixty-one percent of adults said the U.S. should not take any further military action in Iran.

Among respondents ages 18 to 29, 80% said the U.S. is on the wrong track, twelve percentage points more than in the August and September poll. Gen Z Republicans were evenly split in the new poll on whether the country is on the right track, compared with 67% in the August and September poll who said the country was on the right track.
