LAS VEGAS — Toho debuted the first teaser for Godzilla Minus Zero, the direct sequel to the 2023 Japanese film Godzilla Minus One, during a presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. The film is scheduled for release in Japan on Nov. 3, 2026, and in U.S. theaters on Nov. 6, 2026.

The teaser, which runs 45 seconds, was shown to attendees at Caesars Palace during the annual convention for movie theater owners. The footage depicted scenes of devastation and airborne planes preparing for battle, with the teaser culminating in an image of Godzilla moving past the Statue of Liberty toward New York City.

A behind-the-scenes sizzle reel was also presented at CinemaCon, showcasing elaborate sets and props constructed for the production. The reel featured bomber jets, destroyed cityscapes, and a miniature Godzilla model used during filming.

Godzilla Minus Zero is set two years after the events of its predecessor. The cast includes Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe, Munetaka Aoki, and Hidetaka Yoshioka. Kamiki, Hamabe, and Sae Nagatani reprise their roles as Koichi, Noriko, and Akiko, respectively, from the first film.

The sequel is the first Japanese film shot specifically for IMAX. It also carries a larger budget than the approximately $15 million that Toho spent on Godzilla Minus One.

The predecessor, released in 2023, was the 37th film in the Godzilla franchise and the 33rd produced by Toho. Godzilla Minus One earned $116 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing Japanese Godzilla film of all time and Japan's third-biggest release that year. The film won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects at the 2023 ceremony, becoming the first non-English-language film to receive the prize in that category.
