INDIO, CALIFORNIA — Organizers of the 2026 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival canceled DJ Anyma's scheduled midnight main-stage performance on Friday after strong winds in Indio, California, prevented his stage build from being completed. At 12:17 a.m., the festival notified attendees of a schedule update, stating, "Due to strong wind conditions affecting Anyma's stage build, he is unable to perform."

Anyma, an Italian American DJ and one-half of the EDM duo Tale of Us, had been scheduled to take the main stage at midnight, approximately 90 minutes after Sabrina Carpenter's headlining set. He was set to premiere a new performance titled ÆDEN at the festival. Those watching the livestream saw a note reading "Stage Wrapped" appear under the "Main Stage" designation.

Winds had gusted as high as 35 to 40 mph in Indio during the day Friday, and reports indicated tents were toppled in the campground area. Strong winds affected only Friday's closing set; the bulk of the first-day lineup performed without weather warnings.

Anyma, whose real name is Matteo Milleri, addressed the cancellation in a statement on X. "I'm truly devastated and deeply sorry to everyone who showed up to the main stage, and to those watching the livestream at home. Having the opportunity to perform the new ÆDEN show and share all the new music and art means more to me than I can express," Milleri wrote.

He added, "Safety was and always will be our biggest concern. The dangerous winds not only prevented us and Coachella from building our stage, but also made it impossible for my entire live setup and performance to operate safely."

Milleri said he had no other performance slots available during Coachella's first weekend and was working on a solution to bring fans some music but did not want to impose on other artists' slots. Anyma is scheduled to perform the same slot on Friday night of weekend two.

On Sunday, the Do Lab stage announced a partial replacement, posting on Instagram, "Let's end at the beginning. Anyma b2b Marlon Hoffstadt close out the Do LaB at 10:45pm tonight." Milleri is set to perform a back-to-back set with Berlin-based DJ Marlon Hoffstadt at the Do Lab on Sunday night at 10:45 p.m. PT.

The 2026 Coachella festival kicked off on Friday and runs through Sunday night before repeating from April 17 to 19. As of Saturday morning, no weather warnings had been issued for Saturday's lineup. Weather reports for Indio on Sunday showed winds predicted at 10 to 20 mph with possible gusts.
