INDIO, CALIFORNIA — Justin Bieber headlined Coachella on Saturday night at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, delivering an approximately 90-minute set that blended YouTube streams of his older hits with live acoustic segments and guest appearances. The performance was his biggest live show in four years and his first time topping the bill at the festival.

Bieber began the show alone at a desk on a minimally staged set, opening with tracks from his 2025 albums Swag and Swag II. Wearing a hoodie, shorts, and sunglasses, he spent much of the early portion of the set sitting in front of a laptop, singing along to YouTube music videos of his earlier songs, including "Baby" and "Never Say Never." He performed a 12-song medley by streaming the videos and singing from the laptop while the performance screen also featured internet memes such as "deez nuts" and "double rainbow."

Bieber played home videos from when he was 12 on the big screen and interacted with live comments on the YouTube stream. He asked the audience to help choose songs by submitting suggestions in the livestream comments, then selected from those suggestions in real time. "How far back do you go?" he asked the crowd at one point. Hundreds of thousands of viewers watched the YouTube livestream beyond those in attendance at the venue.

The set also included an acoustic segment on the B-stage, where Bieber was accompanied by two guitarists. "It's not clocking to you, I'm standing on business," he told the audience during the performance.

Several musical guests joined Bieber throughout the night. The Kid Laroi appeared on stage to perform the duet "Stay," Wizkid joined for "Essence," and Tems appeared to perform "I Think You're Special." Dijon also appeared during the set, and Mk.gee played guitar at the rear of the stage for the song "Daisies" at the show's close.

Bieber canceled his Justice world tour after revealing in 2022 that he was suffering from facial paralysis due to Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a complication from contracting shingles. He released the album Swag in July 2025 and performed live at the Grammy Awards in February 2026 before returning to the festival stage. He had previously appeared at Coachella as a surprise guest alongside Ariana Grande, Chance the Rapper, Daniel Caesar, and Tems.

Bieber split from his longtime manager Scooter Braun in 2023 after roughly 15 years and secured his Coachella deal directly with Goldenvoice, earning $5 million per weekend without the help of an agent. Some fans in the crowd wore purple clothing, the color adopted by his fanbase known as the Beliebers. Hailey Bieber, Timothée Chalamet, and Kylie Jenner were spotted among the audience.

Coachella, which has been held at the Empire Polo Club since 2002, takes place over two weekends and draws more than 100,000 people daily, according to police from the city of Indio. Colombian pop star Karol G is scheduled to headline on Sunday night.
