LOS ANGELES — Kerron Swift has filed a civil lawsuit in Los Angeles against former world heavyweight boxing champion Deontay Wilder that includes claims of battery, assault, emotional distress, and false imprisonment, according to a lawyer involved in the case. The lawsuit alleges that the claimed abuse took place between 2016 and 2024, while Swift was a minor — a period spanning eight years.

Swift is the son of Telli Swift, who is Wilder's ex-fiancée. The X-Law Group PC, the law firm representing Swift in the civil action, said the lawsuit was filed without a press release and said it would have issued one if the intent had been to generate publicity.

Paul Patterson, a lawyer representing Wilder, rejected the claims. Patterson said the allegations were "riddled with complete and utter fabrications" and said Wilder had never physically disciplined any child.

Patterson also said the timing of the lawsuit was a classic smear campaign intended to distract from Wilder's fight. "We look forward to defending this case," Patterson said.

Wilder, who is 40 years old, held the world heavyweight championship during his professional career. He has compiled a professional boxing record of 45 wins, 4 losses, and 1 draw. Before his victory over Derek Chisora, Wilder had lost four of his previous six bouts.
