MONROE — United States Chief District Judge Terry A. Doughty sentenced Justavious K. Williams to 336 months in federal prison on Oct. 21. Williams was convicted of Conspiracy to Possess a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute and Possessing a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime.
The sentence includes five years of supervised release following the prison term. U.S. Attorney Zachary A. Keller for the Western District of Louisiana announced the sentencing on Nov. 2.
Williams participated in a methamphetamine trafficking organization between May 16, 2025, and October 9, 2025. Investigators executed a wiretap on a co-conspirator's phone and intercepted calls and messages in which Williams discussed acquiring and distributing large quantities of methamphetamine.
On October 1, 2025, communications revealed that Williams' co-conspirators were arranging the pickup of a large shipment of methamphetamine from Texas. Williams traveled to Garland, Texas, where agents observed him and a co-conspirator load a bright orange suitcase into a vehicle.
Louisiana State Police attempted a traffic stop after the vehicle returned to Louisiana. Williams fled the traffic stop, leading troopers on a brief pursuit before he and the co-conspirator were caught and arrested. Investigators recovered approximately 25 kilograms of methamphetamine from a suitcase in Williams' vehicle.
Drug Enforcement Administration agents executed a search warrant at a local address roughly a week after the traffic stop. Agents recovered seven firearms and various controlled substances from a residence where Williams was found, including ecstasy pills, methamphetamine, marijuana, and other controlled substances. A cook lab trailer contained 20,000 methamphetamine pills and more than three kilograms of powder methamphetamine.
Williams pled guilty to the charges on July 10, 2026. The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Louisiana State Police, and Monroe Metro Narcotics. Assistant U.S. Attorney J. Aaron Crawford prosecuted the case with assistance from Legal Assistant Amanda Morgan.
