TALLAHASSEE — On Jan. 28, 2027, a federal jury in Tallahassee found William Jared Breski guilty of attempting to entice a minor to produce child pornography, attempting to transfer obscene material to a minor, and violating registered sex offender penalties.
Breski faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years' imprisonment and up to life imprisonment on the attempted enticement count. He faces up to 10 years' imprisonment on the attempted transmission of obscene material count and 10 years' imprisonment consecutive to any other sentence on the penalties for registered sex offender count. Sentencing is scheduled for January 28, 2027, at 2:00 pm at the United States Courthouse in Tallahassee before United States District Judge Robert L. Hinkle.
John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida, announced the verdict. "My office takes seriously its duty to protect the most vulnerable members of our community against predators, like this defendant, who would seek to sexually exploit and victimize them, and this successful prosecution will ensure he is kept behind federal bars where he belongs and away from our kids," Heekin said.
The 38-year-old Eastpoint, Florida, resident has been a registered sex offender since 2021. In July 2025, local law enforcement conducted an undercover operation to identify and apprehend registered sex offenders who were in violation of state registration requirements.
An undercover law enforcement officer contacted Breski's social media account, which he had failed to disclose on his sex offender registration forms. After being informed he was speaking to a 15-year-old child, Breski expressed an interest in talking to the child about sex.
Ten days after his release from jail on state criminal charges, Breski re-initiated contact with the undercover officer posing as the child. He sent numerous unsolicited nude images of himself to the officer and encouraged the officer to produce sexually explicit images for him to view.
The case involved a joint investigation by the Leon County Sheriff's Office and Homeland Security Investigations. Assistant United States Attorney Emma Schwan is prosecuting the case.
