BENTONVILLE, ARKANSAS — HatsanUSA recalled about 16,170 Blitz and Blitz 777 air rifles on Thursday due to a risk of serious injury or death from unexpected firing. The defect allows the weapon to discharge before being fully cocked, creating a projectile hazard.
Consumers must stop using the rifles immediately and obtain a free trigger assembly replacement. HatsanUSA will mail a free trigger assembly replacement or provide a prepaid package for inspection and replacement.
The company received one report of an accidental misfire, but no injuries have been reported. The recalled units were sold nationwide from February 2020 through March 2026 for between $800 and $1,100.
The recalled air rifles include the Hatsan Blitz and Blitz 777 models, which were sold in.22,25 and.30 calibers. These gas operated and select-fire (semi-auto/full-auto) pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) pellet air rifles are black and feature a synthetic stock, a carbon fiber air tank mounted beneath the barrel and a rotary magazine feed.
