DR Power Equipment recalled approximately 42,860 Pilot and Premier walk-behind trimmer mowers in the United States on October 8, 2026. The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall due to fire and burn hazards posed by the equipment. Primary source: cpsc.gov

The recall was issued due to reports that grass and debris can accumulate in the trimmer mowers and ignite. DR Equipment received 19 reports of the trimmer mowers catching fire, with two incidents resulting in minor injuries including blisters on hands and feet.

Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled trimmer mowers immediately. Owners can contact DR Equipment for a free repair kit or schedule a free repair installation from an authorized dealer if they have concerns about installing the repair kit themselves.

The recalled mowers were sold from November 2022 through July 2026 at Ace, TSC, Bomgaars, other home improvement, hardware and independent power equipment stores nationwide, and online at drpower.com. The units, priced between $380 and $550, are orange and black with the DR Power logo on the top of the motor and on the top of the frame above the cutter head, and labeled "Premier" or "Pro" on the side of the frame.

Generac Power Systems Inc. of Waukesha, Wisconsin, is listed as the importer of the mowers, which were manufactured in the United States and Vietnam. Approximately 340 additional units were sold in Canada.
