NIJKERK — Dutch police are investigating a small explosion outside a Christian center that promotes Israel in the town of Nijkerk, the Netherlands. The blast occurred on Friday night and was caused by an explosive device, according to a statement posted on the center's website.

The detonation targeted the Israel Center, a pro-Israel Christian organization based in Nijkerk, a town in the central part of the Netherlands. Nobody was injured in the explosion, and the blast caused only limited damage at the address, according to a post on X attributed to local police. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

Police appealed for witnesses to come forward with any information that could assist in the investigation into the Friday night blast. Authorities have not disclosed additional details about the nature or size of the explosive device that was detonated outside the building.

The Israel Center said in a statement on its website that the blast fits a pattern of attacks on Jewish sites intended to sow fear. Authorities reinforced security around Jewish sites following the explosion.

The incident follows a series of explosions targeting Jewish-affiliated locations across the Netherlands and neighboring Belgium in recent weeks. Last month, explosions occurred outside synagogues in Liege, Belgium. A separate blast last month struck outside a synagogue in the Dutch port city of Rotterdam. An explosion also occurred last month outside a Jewish school in Amsterdam, the Dutch capital.

The investigation into the Friday night explosion remains active, and police have urged anyone who may have witnessed the incident or observed suspicious activity in the vicinity of the center to contact local authorities.
