NATIONWIDE — E Mishan recalled its Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue Stainless sauté pans sold at Costco.com, Walmart.com, and Amazon.com after customers reported that a metal cap on the pan's handle ejected when the cookware was heated. Approximately 740,000 of the sauté pans may be affected by the recall, according to a notice posted on the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website.

The company received at least 98 reports of the metal cap on the handle ejecting after the pans were heated, according to a company statement. The metal cap, situated at the end of the pan's handle, detached when the cookware was exposed to heat during use.

One consumer reported sustaining bruising and burn injuries when the metal cap ejected from the handle during cooking, according to the company statement. That was the only injury reported among the 98 complaints E Mishan received.

E Mishan makes the Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue Stainless cookware line. The recalled sauté pans were sold as a two-piece set, with one pan measuring 10 inches in diameter and the other measuring 11.5 inches. The product carries a UPC number of 0-80313-08131-6, which consumers can locate on the product packaging to determine whether their cookware falls within the scope of the recall.

The affected pan sets were sold online through Costco.com, Walmart.com, and Amazon.com.

According to the CPSC notice, consumers who own the recalled sauté pans should stop using them immediately and contact E Mishan to receive a full refund.
