US — Reform UK leader Nigel Farage stated he wants to bring Tom Homan to the UK to help secure the country's borders. The proposal came during a US event where Homan was a guest.

"I’ve got terrible news for you. We’re hijacking Tom Homan and taking him back with us to secure our borders," Farage said. He described Homan as uncompromising and said he had achieved remarkable results on deportations. Farage acknowledged there had been "some backlash" regarding Homan's results on deportations.

Homan is Donald Trump’s adviser on US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). In November 2024, Donald Trump designated Tom Homan as "border czar" for his second presidency. Homan was designated as Trump’s 'border czar' for his second term in November 2024, tasked with overseeing immigration enforcement and de-escalating tensions in Minneapolis after a January 2026 immigration crackdown.

Tom Homan has taken a hands-on approach to immigration policy since being brought in to de-escalate tensions in Minneapolis. Minneapolis was the scene of an immigration crackdown in January.

Donald Trump was inaugurated for his second term as President of the United States on January 20, 2025. Donald Trump took office last year. Homan served as acting director of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from January 2017 to June 2018.

Homan advocated for family separation as an immigration enforcement tool as early as 2014 under the Obama administration, later becoming a key architect of Trump’s 'zero tolerance' policy in 2018. Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party pledged to repeal the Human Rights Act and implement Operation Restoring Justice, a five-year plan to deport all undocumented immigrants and deploy the Royal Navy to intercept migrant vessels.
