PIKETON — Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang predicted a major boom in skilled trades such as plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry due to AI infrastructure buildout. Huang stated on Fox Business that AI infrastructure development is creating hundreds of thousands of jobs.

Huang emphasized the need for skilled labor in new facilities, noting the construction of chip plants, packaging and computer plants, and AI factories. He said that hundreds of thousands of jobs are being created as these facilities are built. He stressed the necessity of manual labor for these expanding facilities.

Jon Gray, president and chief operating officer at Blackstone, stated there is likely to be a huge boom in blue-collar employment over the next five years. QTS, a Blackstone portfolio company, operates or is developing more than 75 data centers worldwide.

Approximately 10,000 workers were on QTS job sites one year prior to late 2026. The number of workers on QTS job sites is expected to reach 40,000 by the end of 2026.
