BTS's album ARIRANG debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart dated April 4, 2026, while its lead single "Swim" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart the same week. The South Korean group became the first group to debut an album and a song atop the Billboard 200 and Hot 100 charts simultaneously more than once, having previously done so with Be and "Life Goes On" in 2020.

ARIRANG earned 641,000 equivalent album units in the United States during the week of March 20–26, 2026, the largest week for an album by equivalent album units among duos or groups, according to Luminate. Vinyl sales of the album accounted for 208,000 of those units, the largest sales week for an album by a duo or group since Luminate began electronically tracking sales in 1991. The Billboard 200 chart began ranking titles by equivalent album units in December 2014.

ARIRANG is BTS's seventh album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and the group's first studio album of new music since 2020. The group's previous No. 1 albums on the chart include Love Yourself: Tear, which debuted at No. 1 on the chart dated June 2, 2018; Love Yourself: Answer on September 8, 2018; Map of the Soul: Persona on April 27, 2019; Map of the Soul: 7 on March 7, 2020; Be on December 5, 2020; and Proof on June 25, 2022.

"Swim" was BTS's seventh song to lead the Hot 100 and their sixth to debut at No. 1 on that chart. The group's Hot 100 No. 1 history began with "Dynamite," which debuted at No. 1 on the chart dated September 5, 2020, and remained there for three weeks. "Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)," a collaboration with Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo, hit No. 1 on October 17, 2020. "Life Goes On" debuted at No. 1 on December 5, 2020. "Butter" debuted at No. 1 on June 5, 2021, and held the position for 10 weeks. "Permission to Dance" debuted at No. 1 on July 24, 2021. "My Universe," a collaboration with Coldplay, debuted at No. 1 on October 9, 2021.

BTS also became the first act to occupy the entire top 10 of the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart simultaneously, extending to the top 13 positions on that chart. "Swim" extended the group's record for the most No. 1 entries on the Digital Song Sales chart among duos or groups, reaching 13. On the World Digital Song Sales chart, another ARIRANG track, "Aliens," reached No. 1, becoming BTS's 43rd No. 1 on that chart — the most for any duo or group. The group had three entries on the World Digital Song Sales chart that week, bringing their total to 161 appearances.
