LONDON — Chelsea signed Danny Welbeck from Brighton & Hove Albion on August 2, 2026. The 35-year-old striker agreed to a two-year contract with the club.

Welbeck has represented England at two FIFA World Cups. He has 42 caps for England. His last cap for England was in 2018. Welbeck was not selected for England's 2026 World Cup squad.
