NORTHWEST HOUSTON — Two men were injured in a shooting on West Tidwell Road in Northwest Houston. The Houston Police Department confirmed the incident occurred at approximately 10:20 p.m. on July 31, 2026.

Four people in a car drove alongside two men who were walking down the street eating ice cream. At least one person in the car opened fire on the victims. One man was shot in the side of the stomach, and one man was shot in the arm.

The two men were transported to a local hospital. They were listed in stable condition at the hospital. Lieutenant Pulido said officers located a suspect shortly after the shooting.

"Our officers were patrolling the 6100 block of West Tidwell, looking for the suspects when they found one suspect nearby," Pulido said. "We have one suspect detained."

he said the detained individual provided details about the vehicle and other individuals involved. "He's given us info about the vehicle and the other suspects," he said. "So right now, they're interviewing him."
