ENGLAND — The British Medical Association has scheduled industrial action by hospital doctors to begin at 07:00 BST on 7 April and end at 07:00 BST on 13 April. Patients in the Greater Lincolnshire region are being warned that hospital appointments may be canceled due to the six-day doctors' strike in a pay dispute.

King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has stated that strike action will take place from 07:00 BST on 7 April until 07:00 BST on 13 April. Bradford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust announced that resident doctor strike action will occur from 7 to 13 April 2026.

Hospital trusts have implemented contingency plans for the strike, but some disruption is expected. "Unfortunately, it is unavoidable that some patients will have their appointments and procedures postponed as a result of the action," said Sam Peate. Affected patients will be contacted in advance.

East Cheshire NHS Trust is preparing for disruption ahead of the resident doctor strike. The upcoming strike will be the 15th walkout by hospital doctors since March 2023.

The BMA stated that the government had not done enough to address doctors' pay claims and concerns about job shortages. Resident doctors' pay in real terms is 20% lower than it was in 2008, according to the BMA. Health Secretary Wes Streeting said that the BMA's expectations were beyond reasonable and realistic.
