The Trade Desk has appointed Kristi Argyilan as its new chief commercial officer. The move marks a leadership addition as the American technology company repositions itself during rapid changes in the AI-driven advertising landscape.
Argyilan will take the post officially later this month and report directly to The Trade Desk CEO Jeff Green. She steps into a role vacated last summer by Tim Sims, who held the position for under two years. At The Trade Desk, Argyilan will be responsible for driving growth as the company adapts to an advertising environment increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence, commerce media, and open internet dynamics.
Argyilan joins The Trade Desk from Uber, where she led the global advertising business for about a year and a half. During her tenure, she helped scale Uber’s advertising operations worldwide and establish the company as a commerce media player. Prior to Uber, she held leadership roles at Target, Albertsons, and IPG, building a track record in retail media and ad technology.
Jeff Green signaled his support for Argyilan’s appointment in a press release Wednesday, highlighting her “exceptional ability to bring together customers, partners and teams around a shared vision—and then turn that vision into measurable business growth.” Green added that Argyilan will focus on helping clients “seize the opportunities created by AI, commerce, and the open internet,” while “strengthening the ecosystem that makes that innovation possible.” He also noted that “the leaders we’ve welcomed over the past month bring world-class experience, fresh perspectives and an unwavering commitment to our customers.”
Argyilan expressed enthusiasm for her new role, saying The Trade Desk is “uniquely positioned to help marketers navigate what’s next.” She also voiced support for the company’s “commitment to innovation, transparency and the open internet” and said she is excited to help clients and partners “unlock new opportunities for growth.” Both Argyilan and The Trade Desk declined to comment beyond the press release.
Her appointment is part of a broader leadership reshuffle at The Trade Desk, which last month named Sarah Gavin—formerly of Zendesk—as chief marketing officer following the departure of longtime marketing leader Ian Colley. The company also recently appointed Nate Olmstead as chief financial officer, its fourth finance chief in roughly a year. Earlier this week, The Trade Desk added former Google and LinkedIn ad executive Penry Price to its board.
The leadership changes come as The Trade Desk navigates a challenging period that included being the worst-performing stock in the S&P 500 in 2025, recent scuffles with clients and platform partners, and a platform rework over the past several months. The company has also seen a wave of executive departures, including Tim Sims, Ian Colley, chief revenue officer Anders Mortensen, chief strategy officer Samantha Jacobson, chief financial officer Alex Kayyal, and three board members. Argyilan’s hiring signals a strategic pivot toward stabilizing client relationships and capitalizing on AI and open internet trends under Green’s renewed leadership team.
