NORTHWEST HARRIS COUNTY — A shooting occurred inside a Kroger grocery store at 20355 Cypresswood Drive in Cypress, Texas, on July 15, 2026. Deputies with Harris County Constable Precinct 4 responded to reports of an active shooter at the store at approximately 2:50 p.m. local time.

Constable Mark Herman said deputies arrived at the scene in less than two minutes. He stated that a preliminary investigation indicates the shooting stemmed from "a domestic disturbance between both males." Herman added that a male victim was "shot by the suspect in serious condition and was life-flighted from the scene." He also confirmed, "There is no ongoing threat to the public at this time."

Captain Juan Flores said officers found two men suffering from gunshot wounds at the Kroger shooting scene. One victim walked out of the store after being shot and was transported to a hospital, while the second victim was found inside the store with multiple gunshot wounds and was also taken to a hospital. Flores stated that both men remained in critical condition as of Wednesday evening and confirmed that no bystanders were injured during the incident.

The male suspect sustained a gunshot wound to the neck and was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. Witnesses reported that a Black male wearing a yellow shirt and black pants had been seen firing a weapon inside the Kroger store.
