HOUSTON — Willowbrook Mall in Houston will implement a temporary youth curfew on Saturday, July 18, 2026. The measure requires anyone under 18 to be accompanied by a supervising adult after 3 p.m. as part of the mall’s Parental Guidance Required (PGR) program.

Mall officials cited recent social media activity suggesting the potential for disruptive, unsupervised gatherings of teens as the reason for the curfew. They stated the decision was made to help ensure a safe and peaceful shopping experience for guests. Public safety officers will be stationed at all mall entrances to check identification for guests who appear to be 17 or younger.

Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or supervising adult who is at least 21 years old. Anyone unable to provide a valid ID showing they are at least 18 must be accompanied by a supervising adult to remain in the mall. One supervising adult may accompany up to four minors, and the adult must stay with the minors at all times while inside the shopping center.

“We hope to not need to implement this on a regular or full-time basis,” the mall said in a statement. “We request that all guests and employees respect our Code of Conduct so that we can maintain a safe, peaceful environment for the entire community.”

This is not the first time the mall has enacted such a policy. Willowbrook Mall implemented the same youth curfew in May 2026, following concerns over unsupervised teen gatherings. The upcoming July 18 enforcement follows a similar pattern, with mall officials again responding to indications of planned large-scale teen presence without adult supervision.
