Cadre Holdings announced on June 2 that its subsidiary Safariland was selected as the ballistic panel provider for an FBI armor contract. Safariland's SX HP panels will be integrated into the Overt Armor Kit (OAK) developed by Predictive Ballistics LLC.

Predictive Ballistics LLC secured a five-year, $61 million Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contract. This contract is for the FBI and other Department of Justice agencies. The SX HP panel was selected after an evaluation process that included 11 competitors.

Safariland introduced the SX HP panel in 2025. Cadre Holdings Inc. manufactures and distributes safety and survivability equipment for various groups, including law enforcement, first responders, and military personnel. The agreement allows for the delivery of armor components over the five-year period to meet agency requirements. Selection criteria for the contract focused on ballistic performance and integration capabilities with the OAK system. Industry suppliers often compete for federal contracts to provide protective gear for agents operating in high-risk environments. The contract award follows the recent market introduction of the high-performance panel technology.
