AURORA, COLORADO — The Aurora Police Department increased the reward for information regarding the homicide of Preston Guillory to $4,000 on March 7, 2026. The department believes several bystanders witnessed the shooting and have not yet collaborated with law enforcement.

Preston Alexander Guillory was shot and killed in the 12000 block of East Colfax Avenue on June 21, 2024. Guillory was 28 years old at the time of his death, which occurred 16 days after his birthday. He was a member of True Light Baptist Church in Denver.

Prior to his death, Guillory left a voicemail for his grandmother, Janice Guillory. "He said, 'I love you, Mom,'" Janice Guillory said. She added, "He called me mom."

Aurora Police violent crimes section Lieutenant Sean Mitchell stated investigators are urging anyone with information to come forward. "We are urging anyone with information to come forward," Mitchell said. He also said, "Even the smallest detail could help us hold the person responsible accountable, bring justice for Preston and provide his family with the answers and closure they deserve." The increased reward is valid for six months.

Bryson Knight, Preston Guillory's uncle, hopes for new information. "Hopefully, since some time has elapsed, someone will have a heart," Knight said. He also stated, "And the resolve we are expecting and wanting is someone to bring forth justice."
