WASHINGTON, D.C. — Accenture Federal Services was selected for a five-year task order with a value of up to $821 million. The contract provides core integration support for the Pentagon's War Data Platform.

Accenture Federal Services secured the deal after beating four other commercial bidders. The Department of Defense serves as the funding agency for the contract, with the Chief Digital and AI Office identified as the specific funding office. The procurement process occurred through the General Services Administration's ALLIANT 2 contract vehicle.

The War Data Platform is managed by the Pentagon's Chief Digital and AI Office. It is designated as the department's common data foundation for AI-enabled military and enterprise operations. The platform grew out of the Advana enterprise data and analytics program, which originated within the Department of Defense chief financial officer's unit. Advana served as a digital warehouse and system offering decision-support analytics, visualizations, and other data-driven assets.

In 2021, Booz Allen Hamilton received a five-year, $647 million contract to expand the Advana program. The Chief Digital and AI Office became operational under the Biden administration, and Advana's management and oversight transitioned to this office. Senior Department of Defense officials announced a plan in the fall of 2024 to potentially award follow-on contracts for Advana, which included funding up to $15 billion for various companies over the next decade.

A draft request for proposals for the Advancing Artificial Intelligence Multiple Award Contract (AAMAC) solicitation was released in November 2024. However, the Chief Digital and AI Office experienced an exodus of senior staff in early 2025, including officials leading work on Advana. The Pentagon announced in July 2025 that both the draft AAMAC solicitation had been canceled and the Advana program had been placed on hold.

The second Trump administration released three new policies concerning AI in January 2026. One of these policies was the "Transforming Advana to Accelerate Artificial Intelligence and Enhance Auditability" memorandum. This memorandum formally restructured the Advana platform into the War Data Platform. This Accenture task order is the first major acquisition award associated with the War Data Platform made public since the AAMAC opportunity was canceled.
