Sony announced the RX10 V camera on July 9, 2026. This model represents the first new entry in the RX10 superzoom line in approximately nine years.

The RX10 V utilizes a 24-600mm equivalent f/2.4-4 Zeiss Vario-Sonnar 25x zoom lens, which maintains the same design as both the RX10 III and RX10 IV. The camera features a 20.1-megapixel 1-inch-type stacked sensor. It supports continuous burst shooting at up to 30 frames per second without blackout, an increase from the RX10 IV's 24 frames per second.

The new model will launch with a price of $2,299.99 and is scheduled for release in early August 2026. For comparison, the RX10 IV was introduced in 2017 with a price of $1,700. The RX10 V incorporates the NP-FZ100 battery, which provides over 50 percent more capacity than the batteries used in previous RX10 models.

The RX10 V's body design is similar to Sony Alpha mirrorless cameras and includes an OLED electronic viewfinder. The camera records 4K video at 60 frames per second in full-width mode and 120 frames per second in cropped mode. It supports both S-Log3 and S-Cinetone color profiles.

Autofocus capabilities include Sony real-time tracking with 575 autofocus points. The system can detect human subjects, faces, and eyes. The camera also features a Speed Boost function, previously introduced in the Sony A9 III camera, for increased burst rates. For connectivity, the RX10 V supports livestreaming at up to 4K resolution at 30 frames per second via USB-C, with simultaneous recording capability. The video-out port is a Micro HDMI connector.

The RX10 V does not include a built-in ND filter in its lens or a pop-up flash. At the time of the July 2026 announcement, Adobe software support for the RX10 V's .ARW files was not yet available.
