SUFFOLK — Senior Airman Tyrion Davis of the U.S. Air Force received a 10-month sentence and a dishonorable discharge following his conviction at a court martial for sexually assaulting his estranged wife, Emily. The case was heard at RAF Lakenheath. Davis was acquitted of 10 additional counts of sexual assault and abusive sexual contact against both Emily and Rebecca, and two counts of assault against them.

Suffolk police initially investigated an allegation of rape made by Rebecca on June 8, 2020. Rebecca reported that Davis raped her at his home in Brandon, Suffolk, after she asked to stay in one of his spare rooms. Police officers transported Rebecca to a sexual assault referral center for an intimate examination, where a nurse documented injuries including bruises and bite marks on her neck.

During the assault, Rebecca alleged that Davis smoked marijuana before pulling her onto his bed. She said he bit her during the incident and stopped the assault when she vomited. Rebecca further alleged Davis pushed her into a shower before she escaped to a downstairs bedroom. After barricading the door with suitcases, Rebecca claimed Davis burst into the room and raped her again. She said she eventually persuaded Davis to let her go.

Rebecca called a friend who encouraged her to contact emergency services. A court martial document described Rebecca as "audibly distraught and overcome with emotion" during her 999 call. Rebecca met with police officers, who noted she appeared "visibly shaken, agitated, at some points crying, and appeared to be under extreme stress." An officer informed Rebecca that the local police station had run out of rape kits.

Rebecca was taken to the Harbour center in Norwich, where intimate photographs and swabs were collected, and she surrendered her clothing as evidence. She returned for a formal interview with an officer from Norfolk police a few days later, also providing her phone and laptop as evidence to local police detectives. Rebecca was issued a crime reference number and appointed an independent sexual violence adviser.

On June 15, 2020, Rebecca received a phone call from Suffolk police, who informed her that the U.S. military had requested jurisdiction over the case. Suffolk police ceded control of the investigation to the U.S. Air Force 20 days after it began. The case against Davis expanded by the time of the June 2022 trial to include similar sexual assault allegations from Emily. Davis maintained that his sexual encounters with both Rebecca and Emily were consensual.

Rebecca was a 20-year-old British midwifery student at the time of the June 2020 allegations. Davis was a 22-year-old senior airman stationed at RAF Lakenheath, working as an aircraft metals craftsman in the 48th equipment maintenance squadron. Rebecca recalled discovering approximately one week before the court martial that the jury panel would consist entirely of Davis's military peers. "I didn't feel like I was a human," Rebecca said. "It's like, if I did something wrong outside of work, having all of my nursing colleagues being on the jury. It doesn't make sense."
