OHIO — The Ohio Immigrant Alliance released a report on Tuesday, July 8, 2026, detailing errors and discrepancies in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrest data presented on the White House's "Aliens" arrest tracking website. The organization found that the White House site underreports arrests in Ohio by approximately 55% when compared to other government data.

The report also stated that the White House site obscures the criminal history of immigrants. To reach its conclusions, the Ohio Immigrant Alliance cross-analyzed ICE data provided to the Deportation Data Project with the information displayed on the White House site. The report determined that the site underreports ICE arrests nationwide by 0.05% and declared the site to be "inaccurate and unreliable."

The White House launched the webpage in May 2026, billing it as a live map of active immigration arrests across the country that pulls from ICE data. The website features a counter labeled "encounters", suggesting it tracks the number of immigrant arrests, and utilizes a space and UFO theme.

A May 2026 analysis by WIRED found that the figure on the White House site does not correspond to any enforcement total published by immigration authorities. This analysis also indicated that the figure on the site is roughly seven times larger than the actual ICE arrest count since January 2025.

Lynn Tramonte, executive director of the Ohio Immigrant Alliance, commented on the findings. She stated that "Mark Twain said there are three types of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics. This website contains all three." Tramonte added, "The American people deserve truth from our government, not gaslighting."
