VANCOUVER — "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show" received five nominations at the 78th Emmy Awards on July 8, 2026. The concert film premiered on Disney+ in December 2025.

The nominations mark Swift's first Emmy recognition in more than ten years. Glenn Weiss received a nomination for Best Directing for a Variety Special for his work on the film. The film is also nominated for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded), competing with entries featuring Nikki Glaser, Dave Chappelle, The Muppets Show, and "Wicked: One Wonderful Night." Additional nominations include Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming, Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Variety Series or Special, and Outstanding Technical Direction and Camerawork for a Special.

The concert film documents the final stop of the Eras Tour at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver. Swift wrote on Instagram: "It was the End of an Era and we knew it. We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it wound down. And to film the final show in its entirety."

During the tour, Swift wrote and recorded the album "The Tortured Poets Department," which led her to revise the Eras Tour to include a segment dedicated to that album. The concert film was released alongside a six-part documentary series titled "The End of an Era." Swift previously won an Emmy in 2015 for Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Media — Original Interactive Program for "AMEX Unstaged: Taylor Swift Experience." Additionally, Swift released the song "I Knew It, I Knew You" for the "Toy Story 5" soundtrack in 2026.

The 2026 Creative Arts Emmys are scheduled for September 5 and 6, 2026. The Primetime Emmys Award ceremony is scheduled for September 14, 2026, and will air live on NBC and Peacock. Mariska Hargitay will host the 2026 Primetime Emmys, becoming the first woman to host the event in 15 years.
