MISSOURI — Voters in Missouri, Nevada, and Virginia will decide on three ballot measures related to abortion policy in 2026. Two of these measures propose establishing a constitutional right to abortion, while one seeks to remove an existing constitutional protection.

In Nevada, voters will consider Question 6, which aims to provide a state constitutional right to an abortion. This measure was placed on the ballot through a citizen initiative. In 2024, Nevada voters approved an abortion rights amendment with 64.4% to 35.6% of the vote. Citizen-initiated constitutional amendments in Nevada must be approved in two even-numbered election years.

Virginia voters will decide on a constitutional amendment to establish a state constitutional right to reproductive freedom. This measure was placed on the ballot by the state legislature. The Virginia constitutional amendment defines reproductive freedom as "the right to make and effectuate one's own decisions about all matters related to one's pregnancy."

In Missouri, voters will consider Amendment 3, which would repeal the constitutional right to reproductive freedom that voters approved in 2024. This amendment was also placed on the ballot by the state legislature. Missouri Amendment 3 would prohibit abortion in most cases and would also ban surgical procedures for transgender minors.

Through March 31, 2026, the supporting campaign for Missouri Amendment 3 reported $321,745.30 in campaign contributions. Opposing campaigns for Missouri Amendment 3 reported $1.85 million in contributions during the same period. Missouri's Amendment 3 has the most reported contributions among the listed abortion-related measures.

Voters decided 11 statewide abortion-related measures in 2024. From 1970 through 2025, voters decided 65 abortion-related ballot measures. Of these 65 measures, 44 had the support of organizations that described themselves as pro-life, and 21 had the support of organizations that described themselves as pro-choice or pro-reproductive rights.
