HUNG YEN — The Trump Organization held a groundbreaking ceremony in May 2025 for the Trump International golf resort and luxury real estate project in Hung Yen, Vietnam. The 2,446-acre development, situated along the Red River, follows the disinterment of more than 3,500 ancestral graves and the rehousing of more than 4,000 families. Excavation for the project began in 2024.

In a statement, the Trump Organization said, "Strategically located just 45 minutes from Hanoi, Trump International Vietnam is more than a luxury destination, it is a living icon of a new era."

Legal Initiatives for Vietnam, a human rights group, stated the project is comparable in size to Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey. The group reported that Vietnamese developers are managing the project, while the Trump Organization receives licensing fees and is slated to operate the club upon completion. Legal Initiatives for Vietnam also stated that Kinh Bac City (KBC) Development Holding Corp. holds the majority of the charter capital. A Vietnam government statement identified Trump International Vietnam as a company controlled by KBC through a 95.32% indirect ownership stake.

Tuoi Tre News reported that the complex will include two eco-residential areas with ecological golf courses designed to accommodate a combined population of 5,300. The development will also feature a commercial urban services area for 29,700 people, along with green spaces, themed parks, and a social housing area. The project has a 50-year operating license.

Vietnam President To Lam, the Vietnam Ministry of Finance, and the Hung Yen People's Committee supported the project. Charles Bowman of IDG Capital Vietnam, which represents the Trump Organization in the project, discussed the development in Hanoi with Pham Minh Chinh. Chinh's tenure as prime minister of Vietnam concluded in April 2025.
