LONDON — BDO UK and BDO Ireland merged to form BDO LLP, effective July 4, 2026. The unified company will operate with an annual revenue of nearly £1.1 billion ($1.4 billion).

This merger brings together approximately 8,500 employees and around 500 partners. BDO Ireland's bases in Dublin and Limerick will join BDO UK's 17 existing offices. Mark Shaw will continue as the managing partner of the newly formed entity.

Brian McEnery will retain his position as the regional managing partner for Ireland. BDO LLP is part of BDO International, which has recorded revenues of around $11 billion, operates in 169 countries and territories, and employs more than 95,000 people across 870 offices.

"The accountancy profession is transforming to reflect changing client needs and the desire for closer international working," Shaw said. "At the same time, advances in technology and AI are changing the way businesses operate and the expectations they place on their advisers." "Bringing BDO UK and BDO Ireland together is our response to that shift, creating greater scale, capability and investment capacity for the future." "Today marks an important milestone in that journey and the beginning of the next chapter of our growth story."

BDO LLP plans to maintain investments in client service, quality, digital tools, and the development of its personnel. "This is a merger built on a foundation of shared culture and mutual respect," McEnery said. "Clients will gain access to a wider network of specialists across the UK and Ireland, while our people will benefit from greater opportunities for collaboration, development and long-term growth." "Together, we are building a stronger platform for our clients, our colleagues and our future."
