OWENSBORO — Multiple arrests were reported in Owensboro and surrounding Kentucky counties over the July 4 weekend, with charges including driving under the influence, drug possession, theft, and burglary. Law enforcement agencies recorded several individuals facing various charges from Friday through Sunday.
On Friday, July 3, Matthew D. Davis, 28, was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, specifically methamphetamine, and receiving stolen property valued between $1,000 and $10,000. Haley D. Simpson, 34, was charged with probation violation for a felony offense. Also on Friday, Hailey B. McGehee, 24, faced charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, fentanyl, and first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, involving 2 grams or more of methamphetamine.
On Saturday, July 4, authorities charged Robert M. Burnette, 43, with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle. Terry L. Vincent Jr., 41, was charged the same day with first-degree criminal mischief and third-degree burglary.
On Sunday, July 5, Mark A. Easley, 51, was charged with several offenses, including operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, driving on a DUI-suspended license, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container, and tampering with physical evidence. Avery M. Bender, 25, was also charged Sunday with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container while in a motor vehicle. Roger L. Stallings, 47, was charged on Sunday with theft by unlawful taking or disposition of an automobile, with the stolen vehicle valued between $1,000 and $10,000.
