HIXSON — A three-alarm fire damaged 42 apartments and displaced approximately 70 people at the Integra Vistas Apartments at 181 Integra Vistas Drive in Hixson on July 5, 2026. No injuries were reported.

Green Shift companies responded to the fire at 3:07 p.m. Fire officials observed flames coming from the roof of Building 188 upon arrival. The incident commander upgraded the response from a two-alarm to a three-alarm designation.

Twenty-one of the 27 fire companies from across the city responded to the scene. Firefighters created a relay system from city hydrants on Highway 153 to address water pressure issues, supplementing the private hydrants within the complex. A section of Highway 153 was closed to support water supply operations. Firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to a nearby apartment building.

The fire was brought under control by 6:30 p.m. All residents in Building 188 were accounted for. Several dogs and cats were rescued from various units. Chattanooga Police, Hamilton County EMS, and the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Rescue Service's rehab unit provided support at the scene. Property management is working with the Red Cross and Southeast Restoration to assist affected residents. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
