Insilico Medicine announced a strategic collaboration agreement with Takeda on July 2, 2026, to advance drug candidates using artificial intelligence. The agreement includes potential payments to Insilico Medicine totaling approximately $600 million.

The collaboration involves Insilico Medicine's proprietary end-to-end platform, Pharma.AI. Insilico Medicine will lead AI-driven discovery to identify molecules that meet predefined scientific and early development criteria.

Takeda will apply its global development capabilities to advance selected candidates through clinical validation. The agreement grants Takeda exclusive worldwide rights to develop, manufacture, and commercialize novel therapeutics discovered through this collaboration.

Insilico Medicine will receive approximately $60 million in project initiation fees, near-term payments, and milestones. The company is also eligible for success-based preclinical, clinical, commercial, and sales milestone payments, which could bring the total deal value to approximately $600 million. Additionally, Insilico Medicine is eligible for tiered royalties on future sales under the agreement.

Insilico Medicine, listed on the HKEX under ticker 3696, has a pipeline featuring over 40 projects discovered by its Pharma.AI platform, and has nominated 31 development candidates since 2021. More than 10 of its projects have received Investigational New Drug (IND) approvals, including Rentosertib (ISM001-055), an AI-discovered and AI-designed TNIK inhibitor for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), which has shown positive topline results in a Phase IIa clinical trial.

Zhavoronkov is scheduled to participate in a panel titled "The Biological OS: How AI is Decoding Life and Longevity" on July 9, 2026. The panel is part of the AI for Good Global Summit, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in partnership with various U.N. agencies.
