YOUNTVILLE — Paul Pelosi is facing hit-and-run charges in Napa County, California, following an incident on Friday, July 3, 2026. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. in the 6700 block of Yount Street in Yountville.

Deputies located a brown convertible partially blocking Yountville Cross Road, with a California Highway Patrol vehicle behind it. Investigators identified the driver as 86-year-old Paul Pelosi using his California driver's license. His vehicle sustained damage to its front right side, which investigators stated was consistent with a crash.

A witness reported seeing a brown convertible, traveling north on Yount Street, strike an unoccupied, legally parked vehicle. The parked vehicle sustained damage to its rear. The witness told deputies that the driver briefly stopped after the collision before driving away. The witness provided authorities with the direction the suspect vehicle was last seen traveling.

Pelosi told investigators that he hit something but stated he did not know what it was. He also stated that he continued driving until his vehicle became disabled and he was no longer able to proceed. A preliminary alcohol screening test showed Pelosi had a blood alcohol level of 0.00.

Pelosi was not arrested during the incident. The Napa County Sheriff's Office referred the case to the Napa County District Attorney's Office for review and potential prosecution. The Sheriff's Office is also submitting a California DMV re-evaluation referral form for Pelosi.

In May 2022, Pelosi was involved in a car crash in Napa County. In August 2022, he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor for driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury and received a sentence of five days in jail.
