CHATTANOOGA — Linda Cobble was arrested on July 3, 2026, after striking three individuals with her vehicle while fleeing an Independence Day gathering in Chattanooga. Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to the 8700 block of Hurricane Manor Trail at approximately 9:30 p.m. regarding a report of a pedestrian struck.
Witnesses at the scene, where a large group had gathered for an Independence Day celebration, informed deputies that a vehicle traveled down the street at a high rate of speed. Witnesses confronted the driver, identified as Linda Cobble. As Cobble fled the scene, she struck three people with her vehicle at a low rate of speed.
No injuries were reported at the time of the incident. Deputies subsequently located Cobble at her residence, where she was arrested. She was then transported to the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center.
Cobble is facing charges for three counts of aggravated assault and three counts of reckless endangerment. She also had an active warrant for disorderly conduct stemming from a prior similar incident.
