PATTAYA — A 21-year-old British woman was arrested in Thailand after police discovered the body of a 34-year-old man with multiple stab wounds inside a luxury rental home in Pattaya. Officers arrived at the scene on a Thursday morning local time.

Police were called to the residence in the Pattaya area, a beachside region located two hours outside of Bangkok. Upon arrival, investigators found the man's body lying in a bathroom attached to a bedroom. Authorities believe the man had been deceased for approximately six hours prior to their discovery. The victim's girlfriend, the 21-year-old British woman, was found sitting near the body.

Investigators stated that a 50cm machete-like knife had been washed clean in a sink at the residence. Bloodstains and indications of a struggle were observed throughout the house. Police also noted that the victim's body appeared to have been moved within the home.

The woman claimed her partner had sustained injuries to himself, but investigators found inconsistencies in this account. The deceased man operated a cannabis farm, and cannabis is legal in Thailand.
