LOS ANGELES — Kevin O'Leary is training an AI version of himself called "AI Kevin" to talk and act like him. The television investor expects his digital clone to become indistinguishable from him within approximately one month.

"My wife can still discern the difference on a screen, but in about a month she won't be able to," O'Leary said in a podcast interview. "The only thing now that is the slight tell is the voice intonation."

O'Leary said the AI training process involves the system spending three days listening to his voice patterns. During this period, he cycles through different speaking modes to capture his full range of speech patterns. O'Leary said the tool then applies these learnings to create what he calls the "Kevin O'Leary agent."

O'Leary described the digital version of himself as "incredible" and said he was starting to use it. However, he said the idea that AI Kevin could replace his work hours was "way off."

The investor also said he can spot "AI slop" in student essay submissions and that AI-generated music sounds "formulaic." He did not specify which AI model he was using to create his digital counterpart.

O'Leary joins a handful of other investors and executives building their own AI clones. In March, Bridgewater Associates founder Ray Dalio invited his X followers to have a conversation with Digital Ray. Digital Ray said that it liked Taylor Swift concerts and hunting big game in Africa.

O'Leary wore his $12,930,000 Kobe x Jordan card to the Oscars to honor Kobe Bryant.
