ATASCOCITA — A 31-year-old repairman was found dead from at least one gunshot wound inside a vacant home in the 12400 block of Crathie Drive in Atascocita, Texas, on Thursday. The discovery prompted a criminal investigation by the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to the address around 10:45 p.m. after being flagged down regarding the repairman's truck parked outside. The man had traveled to the house earlier in the day for work but did not return home. Family members contacted the repairman's employer after he was unaccounted for several hours, and the employer helped track his location to the address.

Investigators found shell casings at the scene and were working late Thursday night to obtain a search warrant to process the home. No one was present at the residence when deputies arrived. The home is vacant and reportedly being prepared for sale.

The homeowner's son was expected to meet the repairman at the house to address a leak. As of the time of reporting, investigators had not been able to reach the son and were attempting to determine if he had let the repairman inside.

A black sedan was reported leaving the residence. The vehicle does not match the one the homeowner's son was believed to be driving, based on information from family members. Detectives are working to identify the sedan and its driver. A man and a woman were observed being questioned at the scene, and the woman was seen in handcuffs. Their connection to the home was not immediately confirmed.
