SAN ANTONIO — A burglary occurred at Alta Moda Salon in San Antonio early Wednesday morning, July 1, 2026. Security camera video showed individuals breaking through a glass window to enter the salon at The Rim Shopping Center.

The video footage depicted three suspected burglars inside the shop. One suspect was observed heading for the cash drawer, while the other two rummaged through the establishment. The suspects exited Alta Moda Salon within two minutes of their entry.

Matt Cochran, husband of the salon's owner, discovered the burglary approximately five hours later when he arrived to prepare the salon for opening. "Found out, walked in, things are scattered around. Tossed and turned," Cochran said. He stated that he felt "violated" by the crime and expects the salon's front window will take 4-6 weeks to be fully repaired.

Cochran believes a few hundred dollars were stolen and noted that the criminals did not take other high-valued items in the salon. He added, "I mean, my wife and I, we spend more time here than at our own home." Cochran compared the incident to a personal invasion, stating, "So, this is no different than somebody coming into your own home."

Cochran stated he does not attribute blame for the burglary to the shopping center's management. An email was sent to the San Antonio Police Department inquiring about potential connections between this incident and cases in Alamo Heights. The San Antonio Police Department had not responded to the inquiry as of Thursday afternoon, July 2, 2026.
