The U.S. federal electric vehicle tax credit of $7,500 expired at the end of September 2025.
Why It Matters
Tesla reported an increase in vehicle deliveries and energy storage deployments compared to prior periods. Model 3 and Model Y vehicles comprised the majority of deliveries. Energy storage deployments also rose from the same period in 2025.
SpaceX purchased Megapacks for use at data centers in Tennessee. Tesla's stock performance and the expiration of the federal tax credit are external factors related to the company and the broader market.
