LINCOLN — Nebraska announced six individuals will be inducted into the 2026 Nebraska Football Hall of Fame class on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. The inductees are Charles Fryar, Jim Scott, Cory Schlesinger, Cory Ross, Lavonte David, and Sam Foltz. The induction ceremony is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 4, and the inductees will be recognized at Memorial Stadium during the season opener against Ohio.

Lavonte David played linebacker for Nebraska from 2010 to 2011. He retired from the NFL in 2026 after 14 seasons, all with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, recording over 1,700 tackles. During his two years at Nebraska, David recorded 285 total tackles, including a school-record 152 tackles in 2010. He was a second-team All-American and first-team All-Big 12 selection in 2010. In his final season in 2011, he recorded 133 tackles and was named a first-team All-American and Big Ten Linebacker of the Year.

Cory Schlesinger played fullback for Nebraska from 1990 to 1994 and spent 13 seasons in the NFL, primarily with the Detroit Lions. During his senior season at Nebraska in 1994, Schlesinger rushed for 456 yards, averaging 7.2 yards per carry. He scored two touchdowns in Nebraska's 24-17 victory over Miami in the 1995 Orange Bowl.

Charles Fryar played defensive back for Nebraska from 1984 to 1988 and was a two-time All-Big Eight selection. Jim Scott played center for Nebraska from 1989 to 1992 and earned first-team All-Big Eight honors. Scott transferred to Nebraska from Nebraska-Kearney and started at center in 1992, a year in which Nebraska averaged 328 rushing yards per game.

Cory Ross played I-back for Nebraska from 2001 to 2005 and ranks among the top 15 in school history in rushing yards with 2,743. He rushed for 1,102 yards in 2004. Sam Foltz played punter for Nebraska from 2012 to 2016 and started for three seasons. He was named Big Ten Punter of the Year and a first-team all-conference selection in his junior year, averaging over 44 yards per punt that season. Foltz was also an honorable-mention All-Big Ten choice in 2014.

Joe Planansky, Frank Solich, and Kent Pavelka will receive honors from the Nebraska Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame. Planansky will be recognized as the state college inductee. He played tight end for Chadron State, where he was a four-year starter and caught 154 passes for 1,879 yards. He was a second-team All-American as a junior and a first-team All-American as a senior at Chadron State, and also appeared in two games for the Miami Dolphins in 1995. He was inducted into the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Hall of Fame in 2005.

Solich will receive the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame Legend Award. He served as Nebraska's head football coach from 1998 to 2003, leading the team to 58 wins in six seasons and winning conference coach of the year twice. Solich later guided Ohio University to 115 victories and 11 bowl appearances over 16 seasons as head coach. Pavelka will receive the Lyell Bremser Special Merit Award. Pavelka has served as the radio voice for Nebraska football since 1974 and is also the voice of Husker men's basketball.
