BRADENTON, FLA. — Randall Woodson, 31, of Bradenton, was arrested on Sunday night, June 28, 2026, following a multi-county vehicle pursuit in Florida. He faces charges including fleeing to elude, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The pursuit began after Woodson intentionally rammed his vehicle into a woman's vehicle and sent her threatening messages. Detectives were told by Woodson that he was armed and that he would not return to jail.

Manatee County Sheriff's Office deputies located Woodson's vehicle shortly before 10 p.m. in the 1100 block of Ninth Street West in Bradenton. Woodson drove away from deputies, causing a crash near Sixth Avenue West and Ninth Street West before continuing north. The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit tracked Woodson from Palmetto into Pinellas County and then into Hillsborough County.

The Florida Highway Patrol joined the pursuit when Woodson crossed the Gandy Bridge. He drove off-road near Manhattan Boulevard in Tampa, crashed through a fence, and ran into a wooded area. A Manatee County K-9 unit tracked Woodson through the brush, where he surrendered to officers. Deputies located narcotics and a rifle inside Woodson's vehicle.

Woodson also faces charges of reckless driving with property damage and leaving the scene of a crash with property damage, according to court records. The Manatee County Sheriff's Office stated that additional charges are forthcoming.
