Brig. Gen. (Res.) Dedi Simchi and Benny Gantz formed a new political body on June 30, 2026. The new entity aims to build a broad Zionist government, bridge divisions in Israeli society, and expand military enlistment across all sectors.
Simchi rejected claims that supporting his party would effectively be a vote for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. "We will not give either side the 61 seats it needs - not Netanyahu, and not Bennett and Eisenkot. Assuming we receive significant political strength, we will force them to unite, and in my assessment, they also want to unite," Simchi said.
Regarding military service, Simchi stated, "Everyone must enlist. Summer camp is over. But after October 7, I learned that nothing can be achieved with an ax." He added that ultra-Orthodox men have started enlisting. "The train has left the station, and ultra-Orthodox men are beginning to enlist. What was will not be what will be. Everyone understands that everyone will have to shoulder the burden, including Israeli Arabs in one way or another," he said.
Simchi mentioned that MK Chili Tropper understands the current situation but faces complications in joining the new entity due to unresolved matters between Tropper and Benny Gantz. Simchi declined to address Gilad Erdan directly. He observed that some claim the new body would harm the Right, while others claim it would harm the Left. "Some people make that claim, while others claim it will only hurt the Right, which means we are in a good place in the middle," Simchi said.
Brig. Gen. (Res) Dedi Simchi and former Minister Yizhar Shai attended a Constitution, Law and Justice Committee meeting at the Knesset on January 21, 2025.
