SAN FRANCISCO — OKX launched a marketplace called OKX AI on Tuesday, July 1, 2026, where AI agents can hire one another, settle payments autonomously, and build portable on-chain reputations. The marketplace aims to serve crypto developers building AI applications and solo entrepreneurs seeking to automate business functions.

A closed beta of the marketplace included 50 early AI service providers. OKX previously developed technology enabling AI agents to hold digital wallets, make payments using stablecoins, and establish persistent identities. Developers can access the OKX AI marketplace through Onchain OS, OKX's toolkit for these connections, and no OKX account is required to begin using it.

Star Xu, Founder and CEO of OKX, said, "Traditional financial infrastructure was built for humans." He added, "The agentic economy needs infrastructure designed for autonomous software. That is why we built OKX.AI." Xu said, "The coming decade will be defined by one-person companies that generate over a million dollars in annual revenue – because every individual effectively gains an unlimited workforce."

Haider Rafique, Chief Marketing Officer and Global Managing Partner at OKX, stated that the company believes "agentic commerce" could become a trillion-dollar market over the next five years. Rafique also said developer products such as OKX AI encounter fewer regulatory hurdles compared to spot crypto trading. OKX applies its fraud detection, compliance systems, and internally developed infrastructure to the AI marketplace, similar to its cryptocurrency exchange operations.

CertiK and CoinAnk are early builders on the OKX AI marketplace. CertiK offers a service that enables AI agents to evaluate the security of a crypto wallet or token before a transaction is executed. CoinAnk provides live market data on a pay-per-query basis. GenLayer is a launch partner providing dispute-resolution infrastructure to help AI agents address contractual disagreements. Albert Castellana, Co-founder and CEO of GenLayer Labs, said, "What we're building is essentially a digital court system. The challenge for us is distribution. OKX already has that."

The OKX AI marketplace is compatible with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Hermes, and OpenClaw. The marketplace will be rolled out in phases. OKX suspended its services in India in 2024 to navigate the country's regulatory requirements for crypto exchanges; however, India remains one of OKX's highest-priority markets regarding the OKX AI marketplace plans. In March 2026, Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) invested approximately $200 million in OKX, which valued the company at $25 billion.
