TEXAS — The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) launched a data-sharing agreement on June 29, 2026. The agreement creates a system-to-system connection that shares transportation data along major corridors connecting Texas and Oklahoma.

The agencies will exchange traffic camera status and images, crash, stalled vehicle, and roadway hazard information, dynamic message sign status and messages, traffic speeds, volumes, and lane-level conditions. Lane closures, work zone information, travel times, and environmental sensor data are also part of the exchange.

The data exchange is powered through a center-to-center connection and aligns with the U.S. Department of Transportation's National Digital Corridors Initiative. The agreement was implemented to support increased travel expected during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Marc Williams, TxDOT Executive Director, stated, "This partnership demonstrates what is possible when states work together to deliver better outcomes for the traveling public." He added, "By sharing data across state lines, we are improving situational awareness, supporting faster response to incidents and providing more reliable travel information." Tim Gatz, ODOT Secretary of Transportation, said, "By aligning our systems and sharing critical data, we are better equipped to serve the public and respond to both everyday conditions and emergency situations."

The agencies are exploring additional features including truck parking availability, freight corridor restrictions and routing information, special event traffic coordination, and emergency and evacuation route data.
