LONDON — Simon Levy is on trial at the Old Bailey, facing charges of two counts of murder, two counts of rape, grievous bodily harm with intent, and intentional strangulation. Levy denies killing Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, killing Sheryl Wilkins, and attacking a third woman.

Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo died on March 17, 2025, in south-east London, with her body found in a stairwell of Wendover House in Walworth. Sheryl Wilkins died on August 24, 2025, in Tottenham, north London, and her body was discovered on Tottenham High Road at 6:30 AM the same day. A third woman was attacked on January 21, 2025, in Tottenham.

Tom Little KC opened the prosecution case at the Old Bailey. He stated that the victims were sex workers or sometimes performed sexual acts in return for money or drugs. DNA evidence has been tied to Levy in connection with the killing of Valencia-Trujillo. The prosecution also stated the killing of Valencia-Trujillo was sexually motivated.

CCTV footage from August 2025 reportedly showed Levy walking with Wilkins to a car park in Tottenham and disappearing behind a wall. The first attack on the surviving victim and the attack on Wilkins both occurred in the same car park in Tottenham. The third victim was 35 years old at the time of the attack.

The earliest attack involved a woman who was trafficked into the UK and was working as a sex worker in the Tottenham and Edmonton area. Levy reportedly told this victim he would take her for a drink and dinner after she requested payment. The prosecution stated that Levy attacked this woman with such force that her clavicle was broken. During the attack, the woman lost consciousness.

The first victim did not immediately report the attack to the police. She reported the attack several days later after being stopped by police on an unrelated matter. She was withdrawing from heroin at the time of the incident. She knew Levy and identified his residence. The victim gave a full statement to police six months after the attack and later picked Levy out of a police lineup.

Family and friends of some of the alleged victims were present in court as the case began. Mr Justice Lucraft KC is the trial judge. Levy is blind in one eye and may wear sunglasses during court proceedings due to this condition; he may also require an intermediary during proceedings.
