SIGNAL MOUNTAIN — Walden's Ridge Emergency Service (WRES) responded to a structure fire at 2204 Corral Road on Signal Mountain on June 27. The fire originated around an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and spread to a shed and a detached garage. WRES fire officials reported an estimated $50,000 in damages.

The homeowner initiated the response by calling 911 at 12:15 a.m., reporting that his ATV and shed were ablaze and that the fire was extending to his garage. Upon arrival, firefighters informed 911 dispatchers that the nearest fire hydrant was located a half-mile from the scene.

Due to the distance to the water source, firefighters requested mutual aid for additional water tankers. Signal Mountain Fire and Lone Oak Volunteer Fire subsequently responded to the location. WRES personnel conducted a tanker shuttle operation to maintain a continuous water flow to combat the fire.

No injuries were reported during the incident. Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services (HCEMS) remained on standby at the fire scene throughout the operation.
