LISBON — Amble, based in Lisbon, Portugal, has launched out of stealth mode, announcing pricing, preorders, and initial customer commitments for its Amble One electric vehicle. The street-legal vehicle is priced at $25,000.

The company has secured 12 signed clients and over 500 vehicle commitments, representing more than 10 million euros in signed revenue. Hospitality venues including Amangiri in Utah, Mustique Island, Six Senses Les Bordes in the Loire Valley, and Na Praia in Comporta have placed orders. The first hospitality deliveries are scheduled to begin in mid-2027, with consumer preorders now open in Europe and the U.S. Consumer deliveries are scheduled for 2028.

The Amble One has a range of more than 60 miles and a top speed capped at 40 mph. It charges in five hours from a standard home socket and has a curb weight under 450 kilograms. The vehicle qualifies as an L7e vehicle in Europe, enabling it to be driven on public roads without being classified as a car. It features an open, doorless design utilizing materials such as aluminum, leather, cotton, and cork. The design includes a flat windscreen and an interior dashboard bar with the same diameter as motorcycle handlebars. Orange screws mark removable or reconfigurable elements, and its electric platform is deliberately visible.

Julian Hoenig, Amble's design lead, stated the Amble One is inspired by the NASA lunar rover. "I always loved the lunar rover, the moon buggy. It is fantastic, and there's not much to it—four wheels and the skateboard. Could we have this feeling of a skateboard, but extreme, where it's not hidden by your typical exterior sculptural shape?" Hoenig said. He also stated, "You see the skateboard. And then we put toppings on it." No components from Apple's Project Titan were used in the Amble One, according to Hoenig. The vehicle includes rear seats that fold flat, and a canvas weatherproofing option is in development. A lockable front box will replace the standard basket for urban buyers; hard doors are not planned.

Amble is designing a second platform, the Amble Two, with a targeted release in 2029. The Amble Two will feature removable doors, a lower roofline, and a hardtop. Adrien Roose, CEO and cofounder of Amble, addressed the target market. Hoenig commented on the company's strategy: "A lot of companies in micromobility start in the urban market and want to compete with everyone, and we all know that this did not work out so far. We're taking a different approach: build our brand as a premium brand, and then step by step go more into this urban market."
