WASHINGTON, D.C. — Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has urged President Donald Trump not to curtail and to intensify U.S. military operations against Iran, according to a Saudi intelligence source.

The Saudi intelligence source said that Saudi Arabia wants the United States to intensify its military campaign against Iran rather than merely continue it.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said the US-Israeli campaign represented a "historic opportunity" to remake the Middle East, according to the Saudi intelligence source.

President Trump, when asked about the Crown Prince, told journalists, "Yeah, he's a warrior. He's fighting with us."

Saudi Arabia and Iran have long been regional rivals. The two countries claim leadership roles in the Sunni and Shia Islamic worlds, respectively.

There have been no reports of active Saudi military involvement in the nearly four-week-old war against Iran.

The conflict has seen cyber operations as well. Hackers linked to Iran accessed the personal email inbox of Kash Patel, director of the FBI, and published photographs and documents on the internet, according to Iran-linked hackers and the FBI.

The US Secretary of State said that Washington expects its operation against Iran to conclude in "weeks, not months."
